Technical Working Groups (TWGs)
Scientific, policy and technical experts along with
members of the public comprised the "Technical Working Groups"
or TWGs. These individuals met between 2004 and 2006 to discuss
the many opportunities and issues relevant to Pathway. The purpose
of these meetings were to deliberate scientific information in preparation
for the the Regional Plan Update as well as the plans of the other
Pathway agencies.
The Technical Working Groups were organized into eleven
subject categories:
- Transportation
- Wildlife
- Soil Conservation
- Water Quality
- Air Quality and Noise
- Fish
- Vegetation and Forest Fuels
- Scenic
- Recreation
- Socio-economic
- Management System
For information about the experts involved in the process:
The hard work of these Technical Working Groups resulted in the
creation of the Draft Evaluation Report. This report comprises the
specific scientific basis for much of the policy decisions made
in the Regional Plan Update, the USFS Forest Plan Update, and the
Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) project.
Technical Working Groups have been managed by the
Pathway Steering Team and staff of the four Pathway agencies: the
Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board, the Tahoe Regional
Planning Agency, the US Forest Service and the Nevada Division of
Environmental Protection. To contact a Steering Team member, please
